The story begins deep within the Dovre mountains of Norway, where a massive, ancient troll is accidentally awakened during a railway tunnel construction project. As the creature begins a destructive path toward the capital city of Oslo, the Norwegian government assembles a ragtag team to stop it. The team is led by paleontologist (played by Ine Marie Wilmann), who must reconcile with her estranged, "crazy" father, Tobias , a man who has spent his life obsessed with the truth behind troll legends.
