Pearl Jam's 1999 cover of "Last Kiss," originally by Wayne Cochran, became a massive commercial success and their highest-charting hit. The song, which tells a tragic "teen tragedy" story of a fatal car accident, was recorded during a soundcheck. It reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped raise millions for Kosovo War refugees.
