Originally intended as the second single from Insomniac , "Push" was heavily promoted and even included on the soundtrack for the film Step Up 2: The Streets . However, it was eventually replaced by "Somebody's Me" as the official US single.

A re-edited version eventually premiered on Yahoo! Music in February 2008.

Iglesias sings about a woman needing to "push back" to show she's interested, with lyrics like, "Push, push back up on me / Make me believe you want it".
